Access to the area is provided by the A500 which connects the M6 and M53, with many of the local roads and lanes connecting the various villages by a network of minor roads. There are a number of railway stations in the area providing local rail services to the surrounding towns and villages. Crewe railway station provides regional and national services.

The main facilities in the area include local pubs, a convenience store, post office, village shops, and a few rural stores. Open spaces and attractions in and around the Postcode District include Shavington Country Park, the National Trust's farmhouse and outbuildings at Wrinehill, and Queen's Park in Crewe.

Education is provided by a number of primary schools, including St Peter's Church of England Primary, and also Ellesmere Primary, both of which are in the area. For secondary education there is Crewe and Nantwich Sixth Form College and Knypersley Hall High School.

TheCW6 postcode district is an interesting mix of rural and urban living with a good range of amenities and facilities for the local population. It can be a great place to live and work, with easy access to the rest of Cheshire East and beyond.
