The area is located just outside of Bristol, giving residents easy access to the city while still having the benefit of living in a rural, semi-suburban environment. There are plenty of amenities around, with supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and other shops scattered across the area. The nearby villages of Backwell and Nailsea are also home to several historic houses and grand houses.

Moreover, the area is well served by public transport, with the A370 road running through the postcode providing easy access to the M5 motorway and other major connections. There are regular bus services around the area, with the nearest train station being at Yatton. The area also contains several local parks, an outdoor lido, and a number of golf clubs and sports facilities.

Schooling in the area is done through the nearby Backwell School, or Stoke Bishop Primary and Secondary School, with private schools located further away in Bristol. The local medical care is provided by Nailsea Medical Centre, with dental care in abundance from the local dental practice.
