There are also a range of secondary schools in the district, such as Bradford Academy, Barkerend Academy, and the Holme Core Community School.

As a suburb of Bradford, there are plenty of leisure opportunities available to those living in the area. The Odeon cinema at Carlisle Business Centre and The Playhouse in Bradford City Centre are both popular places to visit. There is also a great range of pubs and restaurants, so you'll never be stuck for somewhere to eat or drink.

Sports facilities are excellent in the district, with there being several gyms, leisure centres and swimming pools. Bradford Bulls Rugby League Club, Bradford City Football Club, and West Park Runners Athletic Club are all based in the BD9 postcode.
