The main A45 dual carriageway passes through B26, providing good links to the nearby Midlands motorway network.

Much of the area is made up of predominantly Victorian terraced houses. However, the area also contains a number of larger detached and semi-detached homes, as well as some more modern housing developments. Much of the suburb is made up of green spaces, including a number of parks and wooded areas, making it an attractive place to live.

The area is served by a number of schools, including some in the state sector, as well as independent and voluntary aided schools. There are also a number of nurseries in the area. The postcode is also home to a number of faith-based organisations, including churches, mosques and a temple.

In terms of leisure, B26 postcode offers a range of activities for residents. These include a number of golf courses, as well as an extensive network of public footpaths and cycling routes. There are plenty of other attractions too, such as local museums, art galleries, theatres and even a popular air museum. Shopping is also abundant, with a wide variety of shopping areas and shopping centres.

B26 area is clean with middle to upper class residential properties of high standard and mixed number of bedroom, plenty of schools and shopping facilities. There are a mixture of businesses, industrial and office. More than average number of good travel facilities with train, plane and buses available. Close to M6 M5 and M40 motorway junctions, around a good area of Birmingham to live in.
