Overhanging bushes and trees, 24th November

Thu, 24 Nov 2016 15:55:11 +0000

Beech trees and gorse overhanging the road creating very poor visibility round corners, difficulty to run onto verge if you meet something, and a hazard for cyclists. Shouldn't be anything growing between the road and the wall, other than neatly trimmed grass.

Trench across Charleston Junction southbound slip road, 15th October

Sat, 15 Oct 2016 12:37:40 +0100

Subsiding previous repair covering a utility trench running across the slip road, on a bend where vehicles are gaining speed to enter the A90. Causes momentary loss of control in smaller wheeled vehicles due to the speed and cornering forces carried through the defect. May be of significant danger to motorbikes. The only way to avoid the defect is to swerve towards the kerb where the surfacing is less affected by subsidence, bringing vehicles close to AWPR construction staff. Defect has existed for at least a month, may have been created by AWPR utilities being installed.

Mon, 21 Mar 2016 14:19:56 +0000

On the Charleston flyover (as you enter from A90 northbound) there are two potholes and several areas of dipped road surface that cause impact if not avoided. To avoid them, cars often stay close to the right which puts them close to oncoming traffic.

Water still flowing across main carriageway, 21st January

Mon, 21 Jan 2013 12:48:38 +0000

Reported previously & acknowledged for action. But still the issue exists. Quite frankly appalling that no apparent effort has been made to fix what is a very real safety hazard at this time of year. Appreciate it is Bear Scotland, but please pass on.

Water flowing across main carraigeway - on bend, 18th December

Tue, 18 Dec 2012 12:09:57 +0000

Over the last few weeks the level of water lying/flowing across this busy carraigeway has increased. There is clearly either an issue with a burst drain or water pipe. If this freezes, it could contribute to a serious RTA. This needs attention urgently. It is on the West side of the road as it bends round to go over the flyover towards Loch Of Loiriston.

Big Stretches of Streetlighting Out, 16th January

Mon, 16 Jan 2012 12:42:43 +0000

There are big stretches of street lighting which have been out for days now, both northbound around the flyover exit road, over and towards Loch Of Loriston and also southbound as you approach the flyover (presumably both are connected). This is a very busy and now very dark junction. This really needs to be addressed urgently before there is an accident. This has also been reported to Bear Scotland. In addition there are several lights out at the Loch Of Loriston Layby

New wall blocking visibility at busy/fast junction, 19th August

Fri, 19 Aug 2011 20:58:53 +0100

Not sure if this is a planning or road safety issue or both. The householder at this property has recently built a new wall (or extended an existing wall) creating a real bad hazard at what is already a poor/dangerous junction. Words cannot do justice as to how dangerous it is, so please send someone to have a look & see for themselves. We can only presume it has been done without planning permission. It is an accident waiting to happen.

Rubbish, 15th February

Tue, 15 Feb 2011 18:11:22 +0000

Lots of rubbish and build up of debris on Charleston Flyover and associated slip roads. The whole area needs a good clean up! Not a welcoming entrance to Aberdeen and sets a very bad impression of the city!

Missing Signs & debris, 9th June

Wed, 09 Jun 2010 17:20:48 +0100

The grass verge on both sides of the Charleston Fly over (A956) just as you exit the A90 northbound)are in a complete mess - planks of wood, traffic cones, rubbish are littered all up the sliproad. There are lots of metal poles sticking out the ground which look as though they once had road signs attached to them at some point (not anymore). There is also a build up of sand and grit along the kerb which could cause a skid hazard! Very dangerous!

Drainage Issues - A90/Petrol Station, 2nd November

Mon, 02 Nov 2009 20:02:54 +0000

Once again we have witnessed sheets of water issuing across the A90 causing very dangerous driving conditions particularly at various junctions between Charleston & Br. of Dee. Please do not say this was due to the exceptional rain...as it is now commonplace. Nowhere is this more obvious that by the Petrol Station at Kincorth where another serious accident occurred yesterday - it is only a matter of time before we have another serious accident here or even worse a fatality(s)/explosion here.Fortunately it appears that some pipework stopped the car from entering the stations and colliding with the pumps/people. Drains need to be installed at the bottom of Cairngorm urgently and proper maintenance carried out on the existing drains on the A90. This may be one cutback to many - there can be no compromise when it comes to road safety !
