Various Speed Cushions - Along northern end of Schoolhill Road, 5th February

Fri, 05 Feb 2016 10:15:44 +0000

A number of the speed cushions along this road have deteriorated badly over the last few months. Holes have appeared where the road was cut for the cushions to be formed. This is the area where the two different surfaces meet and generally where vehicle tyres go over. With the road build up crumbling away, the red top surface is also now breaking off and leaving debris on the road. Reported previously with no response.

Excessive mud and debris on road, 14th January

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 11:49:02 +0000

Construction works are on-going for the new retail units at Hillside. As earthworks progress the amount of mud and debris on road is getting worse. No evidence of a road brush being used and needs to be resolved. The developer has an obligation to ensure roads are kept clean and safe.

Cyclical Maintenance Failing, 20th March

Wed, 20 Mar 2013 15:09:58 +0000

Previously advised that the maintenance of the area was cyclical...but little or nothing has been done to clear the sand, silt & rubbish build up on Hillside Road, Schoolhill Place & the surrounding roads. This is being pushed down the drains & could ultimately result in flooding if not addressed ASAP.

Damaged traffic Island - Bollards & Lighting Column, 20th March

Wed, 20 Mar 2013 15:10:48 +0000

Following an RTA, the bollards & lighting column were wiped out - months ago, no-one would accept responsibility to repair. SMHs advise this section of road is now adopted by Aberdeenshire Council, so can someone please fix before there is another accident - lights out/missing entirely. Island is barely visible, like the rest, due to the level of muck on this road.

Condition of Roads / Pot Holes & Construction Traffic Parking on road, 25th February

Mon, 25 Feb 2013 11:27:31 +0000

The general condition of cookstone road? is appauling. Mud is constantly left all over the place and the road surface at the pedestrian crossings is all full of pot holes already! Also; Kirkwood homes development is creating traffic flow issues due to construction traffic parking on the main road and road verge. This cannot surely be condoned by the roads departent?

Lights still out in Underpass, steps to Schoolhill Road and also many out nearby, 21st January

Mon, 21 Jan 2013 12:45:40 +0000

Despite there being around 40-50 lights in the underpass, none have been working for around 2 months now. All the lights on the path/steps/ramp, leading to the bottom of Schoolhill Road and many of the other streetlights near the underpass, at many of the junctions on the link road & also within the development itself, are out. There is also a central reservation on the link road, that was damaged by a recent RTA - one bollard has been knocked over, neither are lit & the lighting pole has been knocked over. It is difficult to see to now see the central reservation when it's dark.

Cover off streetlight, 19th January

Sat, 19 Jan 2013 17:19:22 +0000

The recently fixed streetlight outside 1 Schoolhill Place, now has the cover hanging off. Presumably not good for it's operation, but also potentially dangerous if the cover is ripped off by the wind. This area is adopted.

Another streetlight faulty, 8th January

Tue, 08 Jan 2013 20:16:30 +0000

This one is at the side of 1 Schoolhill Place, by The Bungalow, & is in the adopted footpath . This light appears to come on, heat up & then go out until it cools down & sometimes then comes back on, before going off again...and so on. It's off more than its on. not many streetlights around here, so a prompt fix would be appreciated. Safety/security issue.

At junction of Schoolhill Drive joining Link Road. There are loads of streetlights out in the new development but those at junctions are a particular safety hazard. This road may not yet be adopted but given the level of use, the council should consider fixing as a matter of urgency. This one is also near a bus stop

Another streetlight out now - o/s no1 Schoolhill Place, Hillside, 20th December

Thu, 20 Dec 2012 08:28:21 +0000

There are only atotal of 3 lights in this street & about 6 in total for the junction/area. Two are now out - this area is adopted by ACC. This is a safety & security issue for the residents and given how busy this junction is - with a lorry/business park, car sales & all the new houses...it needs dealt with quickly.
